Hammer

The following are directions for making a hammer, you will need clear tape, a piece of couch foam, some white furniture packing foam, and a core, I used graphite.

Take your piece of couch foam, and curl it up loosly, to make a tube as shown below.

Cut a strip of the white furniture foam, and cut it as wide as the tube is long, this piece is mostly to keep the end caps on, you will find the tape doesn't stick well to the couch foam.

Trace two end pieces onto white foam, cut them out and tape them onto the tube made around the couch foam by the white foam, you won't have to seal it in, only to tape it in four or five places.

Measure the halfway point in the tube you've got of foam, shove your core through the foam all the way leave about three inches on top to add a stabbing tip.

Secure a strip of white foam as wide as the space you left above the tube, it will need to be about 8 or 9 inches long.

Wind the strip of white foam around the core tape the end down, tape at the base near the tube that will be the head of the hammer. Trace the end of what will be the stabbing tip on a piece of white foam, cut out about three layers, tape on top of the end.

Trace the end again onto couch foam, cut it out to secure you will have to tape all the way over the end, from white foam to white foam.

Secure a strip of white foam a couple feet wide by only about 5 inches long, below the head of the hammer, tape down the end, tape at top and bottom, this will help keep the head on, adn be courtesy padding.

Secure a strip of white foam, much like at the top, on the bottom of the weapon for a pummel.

Trace the bottom end of the pummel onto white foam, use about 4 thicknesses, tape down heavily for ballance, but be carefull not to over compress.

Last thing, to ensure the head of the hammer doesn't wabble, or move, take strips of tape, and criss cross them over the head of the hammer, near the core secure tape to the stabbing tip and courtesy padding to support the head.

I hope to have a picture of what mine looks like when its done on this site later.
Enjoy, Bjorn.
